Hello and welcome to the summer edition of PRO News & Views.

Firstly, congratulations are in order. I'm sure you'll all join me in congratulating our Director General, Robert Louden - he's been awarded an MBE for services to the Outdoor Recreation Industry. Not only is this fantastic news for Robert and the Club, but for the industry as a whole.

And speaking of good news, the Club has once again successfully celebrated National Camping and Caravanning Week. This year, to mark the occasion we ran a Club Perks Media Event at our Hertford Club Site and received substantial media and industry support.

Our Club Site network also got into the spirit and organised their own Club Perks events which we know went down well with our campers. We're yet to hear about any DA Club Perks events but we hope we may receive more information soon…

As you will know, it's been a difficult couple of years for the industry, with the weather and downturn in the economy affecting booking patterns. As a result, we need to continue to develop and invest in our membership offering.

We recently opened our Loch Ness Shores Club Site located in the Scottish Highlands (see below for more information) and we are also confident of announcing a new Club Site at Margam Country Park in South Wales for the start of next season. Combined with our network development programme, we know we can continue to offer our members high standards of campsite at an affordable cost.

We hope you continue to enjoy all the benefits of being a Club member and please keep helping to spread the word via your respective Region, Section or DA!

National Camping and Caravanning Week

After the coldest spring in 50 years - the Club gave its members something to smile about during National Camping and Caravanning Week (May 27 - June 2, 2013).

The Club launched a successful Club Perks media event at its Hertford Club Site with the assistance of Club President, David Bellamy.

We also encouraged further engagement across the site network, asking the Holiday Site Teams to organise their own activities.
